FAQ

Frequent questions about Surrogacy

We understand that you may encounter numerous questions and uncertainties related to the organizational aspects, medical procedures, and the exit process.

If Surrogacy is not legal in my country, what are the alternatives available for building a family through assisted reproductive methods?

In such situations you should seek options in jurisdictions where surrogacy is permitted. The prohibition of surrogacy in your country doesn't necessarily preclude you from pursuing surrogacy abroad. Recognizing the potential complexity of the surrogacy process for intended parents, our legal experts are available to offer top-notch guidance. They will provide you with high-quality legal advice, aid in drafting surrogacy agreements, and facilitate the acquisition of essential surrogacy paperwork. This comprehensive legal support ensures the establishment of your parental rights over the child, accompanied by professional legal guidance throughout the entire process.

Does the baby share a genetic connection with the surrogate?

No, the baby is biologically linked to the intended parent(s) who provide the egg cells and/or sperm during the embryo creation process, rather than the surrogate mother. This implies that if intended parents require the assistance of an egg and/or sperm donor to form the embryo, the baby will be biologically connected to the donor(s). If the egg cells and/or sperm are sourced from the intended parents, then the baby shares a biological connection with them. In terms of genetics, the critical factors are the egg and sperm; the uterus plays no role in this aspect.

To what extent do surrogates and intended parents interact with one another?

The extent of interaction between surrogates and intended parents varies based on mutual agreements, the nature of their relationship, and individual preferences. While many intended parents (IPs) and surrogates prefer to maintain regular communication before, during, and after the surrogacy journey, some IPs may opt for less contact and choose to part ways after childbirth. Typically, intended parents are informed about the surrogate's health check-ups and receive updates on the well-being and development of the fetus. Due to the emotional and personal nature of surrogacy, a significant number of surrogates and intended parents often develop a close and enduring friendship between their respective families.

We’re here to support you every step of the surrogacy program.

Mothers and fathers shape the future of the world, because they shape their children.
